We used social media as rapid response when the Sunday Times ran a negative story about the Sport Unlimited programme - where they criticised the use of computer games in getting children into sport.
 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/a...

We were able to add a comment on the story as right to reply (comments now sadly only visible to subscription holders) and were able to add context by printing the entire supplied quote and showed the scheme in its best light - demonstrating that the thrust of the attack was unfounded.

It also drove traffic to our own site and was widely tweeted.
 http://www.westyorkshiresport.co.uk/news-events/n...

Indeed other comments from people across the country left on the times site backed up our POV.

The worst thing about social media is perhaps the best thing - everyone has the right to be wrong, but few wrongs go unchallenged.
