Last Thursday saw the Social Media & Sport Summit come to London for its second event in as many weeks.
As Social Media has become more prevalent within the sports industry there has become the need to turn to others and find out what people are doing and if they are doing it well, how are they doing it.
We had some great help during the day to get the messages of best practice out there with speakers including;
|Matt Owen||Community Manager||Liverpool FC||(@lfc_community)|
|Mike Dunphy||Managing Director||MD Media Consulting||(@mdunphy)|
|Tom Webb||Press Officer||Lotus Racing||(@twlotusracing)|
|Adam Vincenzini||Social Media Consultant||Paratus Communications||(@adamvincenzini)|
|Ed Hartigan||Founder||Spearfish Labs||(@EdHartigan)|
|Roger Ahn||Founder||WeWin Games Ltd|
It was a day that looked at case studies, how law comes into play for social media within sport (some scared faces in the audience during this one!) and ideas on how social media can work across business and not just sport.
Rather than me bore you with updates about how the day went, instead below are the slides from the day which are far more interesting! As soon as more become available they will be added to the page and to Slideshare.
The guys from Neuland + Herzer, who flew in all the way from Germany for the event, did a great interview with Matt Owen from Liverpool FC on his thoughts on social media and how the club utilise it to connect with the fans. With almost 2m Facebook fans and 85,000 Twitter followers it is not an easy task! … here it is;
Massive thanks must go to Field Fisher Waterhouse for putting on the event, helping on the day and providing some great speakers. Also to FC Business for their support as Media Partner and Colorset UVI Ltd as Signage Partner.
There are plans underway for the next event which is aiming to be much bigger, and cheaper to attend, event later on this year. As soon as more is known I will announce it on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. If you are keen to be a speaker or become involved as a sponsor then do get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are some photo’s from the day. Are you on any of them?
