Arsenal are again showing the way in engaging with fans with this crowdsourcing idea. To help the club celebrate next years 125th anniversary they have reached out to the fans.
We all love the banners which have so much wit, humour and history in them. Whether it be celebrating their player of the moment, paying respects to a great who has passed away, protesting about the owners/manager or providing visual banter with visiting fans. It is a ritual for many who make them and adds great colour to the match day experience.
Here Arsenal have sourced an app to help them put the power in the fans hands (and minds). Anyone can access the app and design their own within the Facebook page. The shape, colour and content is down to you to choose. You can even add your own photo’s to add to the effect you create.
Once your design is in then it is down to the public vote. A chance to get your friends involved and make sure they vote for your design. This helps drive more people to the app and create conversations around the designs.
There is no hurry to come up with an amazing design as the closing date isnt until the end of April 2012.
The most interesting element to this is going to be when the winning designs are brought to life. What is the stadium going to look like with these banners on display and how proud will the fans be to see their own up there.
If you’re an Arseanl fan have you submitted yours?

Dan great post – am an admirer of Wenger & Gunners…..at several levels despite being a QPR fan!
I referred to the above and a lot more about the Arsenal in my recent post: http://www.greatmomentsofsportsmanship.com/what-i…
I believe Arsenal fans are missing the point of how brilliant their manager is and are succumbing to instant gratification consumerism – 6 yeras is not long i the greater scheme of things.
